Ajay Kumar Chawariya

Ajay Kumar Chawariya is the Executive Director of Project Prakash Charitable Trust (PPCT) and has overall strategic and operational responsibility for PPCT’s staff, programs, expansion and execution of its mission. He has over 10 years of experience with non-profits in implementing and managing national and international projects in the field of education, health and disability and has supported organizations for welfare administration and human resource management.  Prior to joining Project Prakash Charitable Trust he worked with The Blind Relief Association, Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre, Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, Public Health Resource Society, SEED CSR, and Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi. He has done Masters in Social Work (MSW), from Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi.

Rakesh Kumar

Rakesh Kumar has been serving PPCT since June 2019. Currently, he is working as Assistant Program Manager- Planning & Implementation (part-time) and posted at PPCT Head Office, New Delhi. He is responsible for planning and implementation and monitoring. He guides the PVC teams for the timely and smooth implementation of project/programmes activities. Apart from the above Rakesh has been also supporting the organization for human resources.  He is also responsible for documentation, communication and network building. Rakesh has done Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), India and has wide experience in planning and implementation of outreach activities for eye care. He has good understanding about child blindness and issues related to rehabilitation and education of visually challenged.

Himanshu Kumar

Himanshu Kumar joined PPCT as Accounts Assistant (part-time) in June, 2019 and served the organization for maintaining MIS and  accounts. Since 1st Nov. 2019 Himanshu joined the organization as Admin & Accounts Officer and now serving the organization as full timer. He is currently posted at PPCT Head Office New Delhi and responsible for handle day to day administrative functions; maintain the stocks and assets, inventory management, maintaining the finance and accounts of the organization. Himanshu has done MBA in Finance from Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana, India. Prior to joining PPCT, Himanshu has worked with R.G stone Urology and Laparoscopy Hospital and Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi.

Vidya Prakash

Vidya Prakash joined Project Prakash Charitable Trust (PPCT) as Prakash Vision Centre (PVC) Coordinator in July, 2019. He has done his M.A from Deen  Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh and posted at PVC Gorakhpur, U.P. He coordinates with PPCT, Head Office, New Delhi and PVCs, Gorakhpur and works as a bridge between  the Head Office and Project Office.  He is responsible for timely and smooth implementation of project activities which mainly include; conducting of outreach eye screening camps, eye screening of patients at the PVCs, awareness program on eye health, dispensing eye glasses, communication and network building with stake holders etc.  Vidya Prakash has more than 10 years of experience working with NGO. He has previously worked with Purvanchal Gramin Seva Simiti, Gorakhpur and was involved in activities such as; creating awareness on women’s health issues and immunization, eye screening and general health camps, support and guidance to Self Help Groups (SHGs), promoting organic farming, working for village development programs which includes promoting the use of solar energy and maintaining and cleanliness of water bodies etc.

Ravi Kant Gautam

Ravi Kant Gautam joined PPCT as an Optometrist in July, 2019. Currently he is posted at Prakash Vision Centre (PVC) Pali, Gorakhpur. He is responsible for carrying out eye screening/examination of patients at PVC and in outreach eye screening camps to be conducted in the PVC area. Ravikant has to also guide the PVC Attendant to maintain the patients’ data which mainly include number of patients examined at PVC, prescribed spectacles and referred for further examination and treatment. He also provides counseling to the patients and plays a significant role in creating awareness among community people on health issues. Ravi Kant has done a Diploma in Optometry from Fatima Hospital, Gorakhpur which is affiliated to U. P. State Medical Faculty, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He has also done a 6 months’ Diploma in Computer.

Sunil Yadav

Sunil Yadav joined PPCT as an Optometrist in December, 2020 and is posted at Prakash Vision Centre (PVC) Brahmpur, Gorakhpur. Sunil Yadav has done a Diploma in Optometry from Fatima Hospital, Gorakhpur which is affiliated to U. P. State Medical Faculty, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. After completion of his diploma in optometry, he worked as an optometrist for 8 months with St. Mary Hospital, Chandpur, Banaras and in Ayodhya Netralaya (an eye check-up centre) in Sahjanwa, U.P for 3 months. Sunil is responsible for carrying out eye screening/examination of patients at PVC and in outreach eye screening camps to be conducted in the PVC areas. Sunil also guides the PVC Attendant in maintaining the patients’ data. Sunil also provides counseling to the patients and plays a significant role in generating awareness among community people on eye health issues.

Sanjeev Kumar

Sanjeev Kumar joined PPCT as Attendant-cum-Receptionist in December, 2020 and is posted at Prakash Vision Center (PVC) Pali, Gorakhpur. He supports the organization in handling day to day activities such as; patients’ registration, assisting Optometrist for carrying out eye examination/screening at PVC and in outreach eye screening camps, dispensing spectacles data entry and maintaining patients’ record, counseling patients, awareness generation and arranging logistics. Sanjeev has done Graduation from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He also completed one year Diploma in Computer Application from SSTI Institute, Sahjanwa, Gorakhpur.

Shambhu Kumar Gautam

Shambhu Kumar Gautam joined PPCT as Attendant-cum-Receptionist in February, 2021. Shambhu is posted at Prakash Vision Center (PVC) Brahmpur, Gorakhpur. He has done a bachelor’s degree from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh and also done a 3 months’ diploma in computer application.  His primary responsibilities at PVC includes; handling day to day activities such as; patients’ registration, assisting Optometrist for carrying out eye screening/examination at PVC and in outreach eye screening camps. He also supports the organization for data entry and maintaining patients’ record, dispensing spectacles, arrangement of logistics, counseling patients and generating awareness.

Ms. Shakila Bi

Ms. Shakila Bi has extensive experience in social mobilization, patients’ coordination and counseling. She is a professionally trained social worker and has more than 10 years experience in eye care. Ms. Shakila as a volunteer supports Project Prakash Charitable Trust for mobilization and counseling of persons with disabilities.
